Mortgage in smartphone: UFHC, Mastercard and Ukrgasbank (UGB) will work on developing a digital ecosystem for housing programmes

UFHC, Mastercard and Ukrgasbank (UGB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which provides for joint work on creating a fully digital pathway to obtaining housing — from submitting an application to concluding a deal and managing the mortgage.

The collaboration involves the development of a single digital platform that automates interactions between banks, developers, state registries and other market participants, ensuring a smooth mortgage support cycle for the user.

Based on this platform, the “Single Window” mobile app will be developed — a personal assistant for citizens, bringing together in one interface convenient solutions for navigating and receiving support with housing programmes, as well as services for drawing up and managing housing agreements. The parties will also work on integrating cashless payment methods into the app, with a focus on transparency, efficiency and improving the user experience.

Today, applications for the “yeOselia” programme are already being submitted online via Diya, and thanks to this collaboration, the entire mortgage process will be digitisized: loan processing, interaction with the bank, checks, signing of documents and subsequent support.

“We have already digitalised entry into the programme. The next step is to digitalise the entire journey to home ownership. This isn’t about an additional service, but about a model change: where a mortgage becomes a straightforward and quick product, rather than a complex process involving dozens of steps. Together with Mastercard and Ukrgasbank, we are building an infrastructure that will enable us to scale up access to housing without increasing the complexity for the individual,” said Ievgen Metsger, Chairman of the Management Board at UFHC.

“The digitalisation of mortgages creates benefits for every market participant: banks will be able to optimise their processes, and partners will be able to streamline administration more effectively. However, it is the customer who stands to gain the most. This is not just about convenience – it is about introducing a new market standard, in which speed and simplicity for the customer become the key drivers of the development of housing finance and the country’s economy,” emphasised Rodion Morozov, Acting Chairperson of the Management Board of Ukrgasbank.

“For 30 years, Mastercard has been systematically developing the digital economy in Ukraine and implementing a range of initiatives in collaboration with banking partners and the government to encourage cashless payments and introduce convenient digital solutions for users. We are confident that the development, in collaboration with our partners, of a comprehensive digital solution for mortgage lending will open up new opportunities for users and all parties involved in convenient, transparent and efficient interaction within mortgage programmes,” emphasised Inga Andreeva, General Manager of Mastercard in Ukraine and Moldova.
