Delegation of Ukrainian Financial Housing Company headed (UFHC) by its Chairman of Management Board Ievgen Metsger took part in the second edition of the Doing Business in Ukraine conference held in Washington, DC.
The conference on Building Ukraine’s Security through Economic Modernization was organized by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
During the conference, the delegation of UFHC took part in several panel discussions. The participants discussed reforms in Ukraine and establishment of a favorable environment for doing business, restoration of the country’s infrastructure and housing sector, as well as necessity of implementing reliable risk management and insurance tools.
At the same time, Ievgen Metsger, Chairman of Management Board at UFHC, and Oleg Zhuravlov, Deputy Chairman, held a number of meetings. In particular, company’s representatives met with representatives of the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and U.S. Corporation for International Development (DFC).
Bilateral meetings with international financial partners were held to share experience and, among other things, to attract additional opportunities to expand the ‘yeOselia’ program and meet the needs of Ukrainians for their own comfortable housing.
Moreover, Ievgen Metsger shared the results of the company’s work and the stages of improvement of ‘yeOselia’ in accordance with the best international practices and needs of Ukrainian citizens. UFHC team is constantly working with international consultants to strengthen institutional capacity and attractiveness for foreign investment, as the company plans to raise funds in foreign markets in the future.
“We have worked very thoroughly to ensure that our program helps Ukrainians realize their dream of owning their own home, that the project develops and that the program is constantly expanding. It is also important for us to comply with international standards, develop in line with the best international practices and build strong partnerships with our colleagues from around the world” – said Ievgen Metsger.
As a result of the meetings, the participants agreed on ways to further international cooperation in the field of mortgage lending.
It is worth noting that the conference was attended by leaders of the Ukrainian private sector and local administrations, representatives of international corporations, as well as officials from the US Presidential Administration and Congress.
