PJSC UFHC has signed an agreement on engagement of international financial advisor with international company Alvarez & Marsal. The signing took place at the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The agreement provides for advisory support in raising financing for UFHC on international markets. It is aimed at identifying solutions that will help diversify funding sources, attract longer-term and lower-cost resources, and strengthen the company’s institutional capacity for the further development of the affordable mortgage programme yeOselia.
“This agreement is built on a results-based principle: the partner’s fee is payable only if the terms of the financing raised are better than those currently available to us on the domestic market. It is also important that all key parameters of such financing will be approved by our shareholder, the Ministry of Economy. In other words, we are moving forward in a very balanced way: on the one hand, we are opening access to international capital markets; on the other, we are maintaining full control over the terms and effectiveness of these decisions,” said Chairman of the Management Board of UFHC Ievgen Metsger.
“We are used to seeing international consultants brought into state-owned companies in times of crisis — when there is a need to solve problems or restructure debt. This is a different story. UFHC is engaging an international partner for development — to strengthen its institutional capacity, scale up the yeOselia programme, and make it even more effective for citizens,” said Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Vitalii Petruk.
“Our role is to improve financial structuring, enhance operational efficiency, and support the scaling of the programme in line with international best practices. Ukraine has a unique opportunity to build a modern housing finance system almost from scratch, and UFHC can play a central role in this transformation,” added Managing Director at Alvarez & Marsal Peter Briggs.
