In three years, UFHC has built a loan portfolio comparable to leading mortgage companies worldwide

Since October 2022, partner banks of UFHC have issued loans under the yeOselia program totaling UAH 40 billion (approximately USD 920 million). 23,214 families participated in the program, and thanks to yeOselia, 14,462 children have received their own homes.

The largest group of borrowers consists of military personnel and representatives of the security sector, who are eligible for mortgages at a preferential 3% interest rate — 11,245 loans, accounting for almost half of all yeOselia participants.

“UAH 40 billion is the total mortgage portfolio of the yeOselia program. This is close to the USD 1 billion — international threshold, from which housing programs are considered mature and systemic rather than experimental. For comparison, the portfolios of national mortgage companies in Iceland and Australia — countries where such institutions have operated for many years — amount to EUR 1–2 billion. In just three years, yeOselia has already reached this level — during a full-scale war. Against the backdrop of Ukraine’s financial market, our result looks no less impressive: our loan portfolio is comparable to that of the largest banks in Ukraine,” emphasized Ievgen Metsger, Chairman of the Management Board at UFHC.

“yeOselia is not only affordable mortgages for Ukrainian families, but also a powerful driver for the construction sector and related industries. Every week, mortgage agreements are signed for more than UAH 300 million (about USD 6.9 million). For businesses, this creates demand for increased construction volumes, production of building materials and furniture, and scaling up logistics. As a result, the program turns every hryvnia of state support into 2.8 hryvnias in taxes and fees returned to the budget. This is exactly how the policy of supporting Ukrainian manufacturers under the Made in Ukraine initiative works,” noted Andrii Teliupa, Adviser to the Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.
