The mass mortgage at 7%, which was launched as part of the state program ‘yeOselia’ on August 1 this year, should be more active in the primary property market. This will help launch construction and related industries and give a significant boost to economic growth. This was stated by Ievgen Metsger, Chairman of Management Board at UFHC, at a panel discussion at the II Architectural and Construction Business Forum “Rebuilding Ukraine”.
“The number of applications we receive through the ‘yeOselia’ program demonstrates that there is a demand for new housing. Another thing is whether we can satisfy it today. I urge developers to become more flexible, accept our rules and become partners of the program. This will give you the opportunity to grow even in times of war” – said Ievgen Metsger. According to him, affordable mortgage program has sufficient funding today. “We are ready to cover the entire demand. By the end of 2023, we have a resource for 10 thousand mortgage loans. Next year, we plan to increase this figure to at least 12 thousand” – added Chairman of Management Board.
Over the year of the program’s operation, 3,808 Ukrainian families have purchased their own housing for more than UAH 5.4 billion. More than 32% of them chose apartments from developers: 1170 in finished houses and 33 in the projects under construction. Currently, 14 residential complexes in 6 regions of Ukraine are available for borrowers.
The Business Forum “Rebuilding Ukraine” brought together more than 10 well-known Ukrainian developers, representatives of the construction industry, business leaders, bankers and government officials. Among the participants of the first panel discussion were Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Nadiya Bihun, Deputy Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine Natalia Kozlovska, Head of the State Inspectorate of Architecture and Urban Planning of Ukraine Oleksandr Novytskyi and others.
